Bachelor alum Jade Roper Tolbert is hitting back after some social media users implied she shouldn't call herself self-conscious about her body, insisting people of all shapes and sizes can experience body image struggles.

Jade, 31, took to Instagram earlier this month to share photos of herself in a bathing suit, holding her nine-month-old daughter Emerson.

The mother, who married former Bachelorette contestant Tanner Tolbert, 31, in January 2016 after meeting him on Bachelor in Paradise, explained that she almost refrained from sharing the cute snaps because of 'the stretch marks on [her] hips', which she said are 'from pregnancy'.

'But then I was like wait, that's silly, we are cute AF,' Jade said in her Instagram post.

While plenty of people chimed in to tell the mom her stretch marks are virtually indistinguishable, Jade said some left comments suggesting she had no place talking about body image issues, presumably because she is thin.

'Also, to those leaving eye roll emojis and telling me I'm what's wrong with body image issues—telling me my stretch marks aren't good enough for you for me to be self-conscious about them is what is wrong with body image issues,' she added.

In a heated discussion, Jade told one Instagram user: 'I was also emotionally, mentally and physically abused for years solely for the way my body looked. But you wouldn't know that by the box you just put me in based on my looks.'

Jade initially appeared on season 19 of The Bachelor, which aired in 2015.

She has since found happiness with Tanner, himself a Bachelorette alum from season 11.

While Jade initially appeared as a cosmetics developer on television, and Tanner was featured a finance manager, the couple were on track to make a joint $1 million from sponsored Instagram posts in 2016, a source told Us Weekly at the time.

Since welcoming Emerson in August 2017, Jade has candidly opened up about the ways motherhood has changed her body.

In December last year, she shared a close-up shot of her face, describing how different her skin looked shortly after giving birth.

'Real talk here. After having a baby, it's amazing how women's bodies adapt, heal and aaalmost go back to what they used to be,' she wrote.

'They are always just slightly different, transformed with a new purpose. One thing I've noticed is how much collagen loss in my face there is and how my skin has changed.

'It's something I stared at in this picture, and it almost made me not post it out of feeling less than. But it's funny, because when I jump out of that mind-frame, I remind myself I've never loved myself or my body more (I can honestly say that's true) since it gave me Emerson.

'Such a new found respect for my body even through all the changes. Our bodies are amazing.'

Following Emerson's birth, Jade told Us Weekly she took her time getting back into shape, telling the magazine she felt 'not ready' to wear bikinis five months after her delivery.

'That's when I decided to make a change,' Jade said. 'I was like, "Jade, you have to get yourself moving."'

The mother said she had gained 30 pounds during her pregnancy, mainly around her 'middle section, hips, thighs, and waist'.

'My goal was to get back to my regular weight so I could have another baby,' she added. 'I didn't want to be accumulating weight. I wanted to feel good so I could have another.'

Jade and Tanner told the magazine at the time they would like to have three children in total.
